    This is a 7 day/ 6 night tour to the historical sites of Northern Ethiopia, preferable to visitors who wish to visit as many historical sites as possible with relatively lesser time.

    Day 1: Arrival + AddisAbeba( Arrive in Addis Ababa, (2450 m / 8,038 ft) Ethiopia's capital city.)

    Arrive at Bole International Air Port (Addis Ababa) where you will be welcomed by Tangible Ethiopia Tours representative and transferred to DebreDamo InterNational Hotel.

    Day 2: AddisAbeba

    This morning we tour Addis Ababa, with a visit to Ethiopia's National and Ethnographic Museum. One of its most famous residents is Lucy,  a proto-human skull discovered in Ethiopia in 1974 and believed to be 3.6 million years old. The Ethnographic Museum, on the university campus of Addis Ababa, displays many items important to daily life in rural Ethiopia. A brief section also pertains to the life of the late Haile Selassie, Ethiopia's last emperor, crowned in 1930. We also visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the second most-important place of worship in Ethiopia and the final resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie.

    Day 3: Fly Addis – Bahir Dar

    Today we fly to Bahr Dar, situated on the shore of Lake Tana in northwestern Ethiopia. Bahar Dar is a small town set on the southeastern shore  of Lake Tana (Ethiopia's largest lake), where local fishermen still use papyrus boats, and just 30 km (19 miles) from the spectacular Tissisat Falls. This afternoon we have an excursion to Tis Abay (Blue Nile Falls), a cascade 45 m (150 feet) high. The locals call it Tisissat, which means "Water that Smokes". The area is also home to a great variety of birds and plants.

    Day 4: Drive Bahir Dar – Gondar (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

    After breakfast drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar - the 17th century capital of Ethiopia. In the afternoon, touring the castle of Emperor Fasiledes, founder of the former capital. The two-story castle with its domed towers was said to be “one of the most marvelous of buildings" by a visiting Yemeni envoy. We will also see the Bathing Palace, once surrounded by a moat of water.

    Today the moat is only filled with water during Epiphany for an annual baptism celebration. We will also visit the monasteries of Qusquam and Debre Berhan Selassie. The latter has not only many detailed 16th century frescoes, but also one of Ethiopia's most photographed ceilings painted with angels' faces. We will also make a short trip outside Gondar to the tiny village of Wolleka, where there once lived a large community of Falashas (Jewish Ethiopians). Although most departed in 1991, their Christian neighbours still make the figurines of black and red pottery for which the Falasha were so famous.

    Day 5: Fly Gondar – Axum


    Transfer to the airport and fly to Axum. Axum is famous for its more than 2000 year old Axumite long standing steles measuring some of them up to 33m high,  the bath and palace of Queen of Sheba, King Kaleb's and other kings tombs, archaeologicalmuseum which is widely rated as Ethiopia's best, the church of St. Mary of Tsion, where theoriginal Ark of covenant is housed. Legend has it that the son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon of Israel,
    King Menelik I brought the original Ark from Israel to Axum.

    Day 6: Fly Axum – Lalibela


    Transfer to Airport and fly to Lalibella, famous for its rock hewn churches dating back 800 years, and transferred to the Hotel. The brilliant feats of engineering and architecture of rock hewn churches of Lalibella referred to as the "Eighth wonder of the world". There are 11 rock -hewn churches in the Town of Lalibella, and visit the first group of rock-hewn churches from the 1200 AD.

    Day 7: Lalibela-Asheton Mariam


    In the morning, mule ride, and trek to the top of Asheten Mariam Monastery. In the afternoon, visit the second group of rock-hewn churches.

    Day 8: Fly Lalibela – Addis + Departure


    In the morning, fly to Addis Ababa.

    The rest of the day city tour of Addis Ababa which include: MERKATO-the largest open air market in Africa is full of people and activity, Mount Entoto panoramic view point at the highest pick in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meters, which was the site for the first palace of Emperor Menelik-II, the founder of Addis Ababa. and Piassa. In the evening, there will be traditional dinner and live cultural dance show.

    At the end of the farewell dinner, transfer to Addis Ababa airport for the flight back. End of tour.
